This morning our speaker was Jeri Redman. Jeri is the mom of 4 children plus grandchildren and is a professional organizer.
Her talk was entitled "A Brave New Year". She challenged us that God has given us this job of motherhood and He has a plan for us.
“Making the decision to have a child -- it is momentous. It is to decide
forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body." -Elizabeth Stone
She reminded us to be BRAVE:
- Boundaries - As moms, we are the gatekeepers of our home. Do what works for you and the gatekeeping of your house.
- Rules - We establish rules in our home for safety and to make life better. By enforcing the rules, we show our children that Mommy keeps her word and you can count on her. "I have to be able to count on you to follow the rule. If you can't do that, there will be a consequence."
- Activities - Be intentional and selective with activities. Do things that help your family, not just for appearances.
- Value - You have value beyond measure.
- Enlisting Help - Just need to ask. We aren't meant to do this alone. Sometimes asking for help is doing your best. We can also ask for wisdom from God.

We are extending our raffle from last semester. You can "earn"
entries into the raffle by
inviting friends to MOPS: one entry for a friend visiting and 4
additional entries into the raffle if that mom
registers for MOPS and pays her dues. It doesn't have to just be a
friend; it could be moms you meet at the park, library, or anywhere! We'll have a special drawing at the last meeting for a prize basket of fun goodies.

of bringing gospel artist Babbie Mason to the Millbrook Road campus in
Raleigh on Friday, February 27 for a worship concert.
