Su Soutter, author of The Intentional Home blog, spoke about "Direction, not Perfection."
Su is the mother of 5, including 2 adopted children.
She spoke on her desire to have a vision for her home because a home is not something you have, it's something you make.
She shared about a survey done with kids; what the kids most wanted was for their parents to feel less stressed/tired and for them to control their anger.
1. Slow Down - Life is not an emergency.
- Think like a man: do 1 thing at a time. Multitasking robs job and energy.
- Say no - in order to say yes to priorities, you have to say no to something else.
- Create margins - Unplanned time so that things are not so tightly scheduled that you can effectively parent.
2. Let go of unrealistic expectations and pictures in our heads of what things should look like.
3. Choose your attitude - we set the tone in our homes.
- "I get to..." rather than "I have to..."
- Choose to be thankful as complaining hurts perspective - create a list of things you're thankful for, turn complaining around into thankfulness, thank other people.
- Sentence/breath prayers to repeat throughout the day -- "Lord, create in me a clean heart." "Help me to not yell." "Help me to see my kids the way you see them."
- Memorize Scripture
- Listen to worship music
- Set times to pray - triggers to pray like praying over a child as you fold their laundry, change their diaper
- Ask God throughout the day if there is anything He wants you to be doing or saying to you in that moment

Our speaker will be Cheryl Scanlan with Way of
Life Coaching. She will be speaking about "Living without Worry and
Fear". She will also have two of her books for our raffle.
We will also have our adorable magnet craft we ran out of time for this week.
If you forgot yours yesterday like me, you have 2 extra weeks to get some photos together that you could use to make magnets like the ones April did of her sweet triplets above. You'll need a picture that you can use a 1" (in diameter) circular section of.
We will also be having a MOPS Swap again! This is a chance for you to bring items you no
longer want and maybe pick up something you need! Anything leftover can be donated to the Crossroads Thrift Store. We are still looking in to having the Thrift Store open just for our group to shop.
Heather Pendleton and Heather Franchi's groups have brunch for March 24th.
March 31st - Groupwide Play Date
Please join us at Greystone Recreation
Center!
If the weather is nice, plan to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy
at Baileywick park afterwards.
April 7 Small group playdate /
Leadership team meeting at Crossroads
It's time to think about your role
in MOPS next year!
At the core of our MOPS ministry is a team of women who share the leadership of a
MOPS group.
Please look over the description of our team and
see if there is place for you to help serve and add to the success of
this group!
Some of our Leaders are returning next year so there may or may not be a vacancy for the Leader but having a team of people to support that person would be wonderful for some of the positions, especially hospitality.
If you are interested in learning more about
leadership, please speak with your small group leader and plan to join
us at our May 5th Leadership Team meeting.
